What is Sofwave™?

How does Sofwave™ work?
Sofwave™ utilizes ultrasound energy to create channels of heat energy at 1.5 mm below the skin, which triggers the body’s natural wound-healing response. This process produces more collagen and elastin in the dermis, which reduces wrinkles. There is no damage to the skin’s outer layer or any underlying structures beneath the dermis (bones, facial nerves, facial fat, and blood vessels) with Sofwave™.
Who is a good candidate for Sofwave™?

What should you expect from a Sofwave™ treatment?
Before your Sofwave™ treatment at the Refinery Skin Clinic, your provider will apply topical numbing cream to your face and neck. Once you are numb, they will apply a cool gel to your skin and begin the treatment one section of the face at a time. As the handpiece moves across your face, it warms the tissue beneath the skin. Some areas may be slightly uncomfortable as the heat increases, but this is only temporary, as the cooling tip of the handpiece immediately takes the sensation away.
Depending on the size of the area being treated, your Sofwave™ procedure should take about 45 minutes (after consultation, pictures, and topical numbing have been completed) and requires no downtime. You can immediately return to normal activities after the treatment is over.
When will I see results after Sofwave™?
Sofwave™ works by stimulating collagen production and rebuilding the collagen matrix in your skin. This biological process takes time. Some immediate results can be seen as soon as 1-week following the treatment. However, the collagen regeneration process can take up to 12 weeks.
Most patients only need one treatment to improve their skin quality significantly. If more wrinkles or prominent sagging are present before Sofwave™, two treatments may be recommended.
