As Practice Manager and Operations Manager, Kailyn helps lead the systems, strategy, and team culture that keep Refinery Skin Clinic running beautifully behind the scenes while ensuring your experience feels polished, personalized, and seamless.

Her role includes:

• Leading strategic planning, daily operations, and team execution across the practice 
• Creating a positive, high-performing team culture rooted in accountability, consistency, and support 
• Overseeing and continually refining the client experience from first touchpoint to follow-up 
• Developing systems, workflows, and protocols that keep the practice operating efficiently 
• Training, mentoring, and supporting team members to encourage growth and excellence 
• Solving problems thoughtfully, proactively, and often before anyone else even notices them!

A Little Bit About Me

I’m originally from the Chicago area, where I attended Illinois State University and Columbia College Chicago, studying graphic design. I’ve always been drawn to creativity, design, and aesthetics, even if my career path didn’t ultimately take me in the direction I originally imagined. Looking back, it actually makes perfect sense that I found my way into medical aesthetics. This industry beautifully blends visual artistry, human connection, strategy, and transformation.

Before joining Refinery, I spent several years as the Director of Operations at a plastic surgery clinic in Chicago, which gave me an incredible foundation in leadership, operations, and the clinical side of aesthetic medicine.

What has kept me in this industry is something much deeper than beautiful, healthy skin. I love the impact aesthetic care can have on how people feel about themselves. Confidence is personal, and being part of an experience that helps someone feel more comfortable, refreshed, or simply more like themselves is incredibly rewarding.

I’m also deeply passionate about building strong teams because exceptional client experiences never happen by accident. They happen because talented people feel supported, empowered, and aligned.

One of the things I respect most about Refinery is our culture. We genuinely care about our clients, and creating an environment where people feel comfortable, cared for, and welcomed. I also love that this industry never stands still. There’s always something new to learn, new technologies emerging, and new ways to better serve our clients.

My Life Outside of Refinery Skin Clinic

Outside of Refinery, my favorite role is simply being with my family.

I love spending time with my husband, daughter Salem, my mom, and our furry family members, Mochi the cat and Wormie the Pomeranian (arguably one of the best names ever).

When Minnesota gives us good weather, you’ll find me outside soaking up every possible second, ideally with significantly fewer spiders involved!

At home, I love interior design projects, reading with Salem, teaching her about animals, nature, and the world around her, and embracing all the little moments that make family life special.

I’m also a huge animal lover with an abnormally large collection of weird animal facts in my brain. At one point, I fully intended to become either a paleontologist or animal behavioral scientist, which honestly still tracks.

I also love food, especially sushi and anything pickle-flavored, and I deeply value travel whenever life allows it. Maui holds a particularly special place in my heart. My grandfather purchased our family condo there in the 60’s, and generations of our family have shared it ever since. I grew up spending summers there, and it remains one of my happiest places in the world. Sun, fresh seafood, slower days, and true island time? Immediate reset.
